I saw a familiar face at Ohio State’s football camp yesterday. I had the chance to talk with Cannon Blauser from Hilliard Bradley High School. Cannon is a member of the Ohio 2019 Class, which is developing to a really good recruiting class.
Cannon (6’2-210) plays linebacker at Bradley HS and plays well. Ran a 4.7/40 at the Underclassman Showcase and also ran a 4.2/shuttle. Both good indoor times for any linebacker. Good hips and can run with the inside receivers.
Really believe that he could be a better outside guy than inside. As he keeps getting stronger/bigger, he gets faster. Need to see him play in space this fall.
Actually, I watched him at a freshman practice two years ago. Intense then and continues to get more and more aggressive. His closing speed is his strength. Of course, he has the toughness, for real.
After working out with the Bradley high school team, he gets extra training at D1 under Chuck Gresham. Seems to have the same intensity there as he does with pads on.
Cannon did not run well or jump well at the OSU camp. Did much better at Cincinnati this morning.
Cannon does not begin the season with as much preseason hype as some other prospects in the 2019 Class. But he will be fine.
