After missing the last five games last season, Wooster’s Branden Taylor(2020) has made consistent improvement this fall and is playing his best football now. Becoming a more active MIKE backer. First year playing LB.
Thought he played well against Mansfield Senior last Friday. Played both linebacker and some running back. Like his 6’2-210 frame. Strength to not leave the field.
Although he is tough runner with good speed, his position on the next level will be linebacker. Guessin inside linebacker, or MIKE.
Runs well down hill. Finds the football and closes well. Aggressive. Like the way he finishes tackles. Uses good pursuit angles to chase down ball carriers. Good form tackler.
Needs to improve his hips and change of direction. Needs to play better in space.Needs to continue to get bigger/faster/stronger. Keep working on change of direction. Overall athleticism needs to get better.
Tremendous in the classroom, as well. 4.0 student. Plays center fielder on the lacrosse team. A very good lacrosse player.
Last summer, I was impressed with Brayden’s effort and aggressiveness in the camps that I saw him. That same effort was evident last Friday. Like his future at linebacker. Definitely a leader for the Wooster Generals.
Being a coach’s son, Brayden understands “commitment.” He has come a long since last season’s mid-season injury. For now – definite D2 prospect, but with a good off season and some impressive college summer camps, D1 level football should be a possibility.
