Lorenzo Styles Jr Ty Hamilton – Pick Central Underclassmen

Last spring I watched two of Pickerington Central’s top underclassmen workout. Well, actually Demeatric Crenshaw worked out, as well. Did an article on Demeatric last week.

Ty Hamilton

Junior Ty Hamilton and sophomore Lorenzo Styles Jr looked good last spring, and  looked even better last Thursday night against Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Ty plays defensive end, but could possibly move to linebacker next year. Guessin 6’2-235. Or he could add more good weight and strength and move inside. Like his athleticism. Plays pad under pad. Uses his hands to get separation. Can find the football. Finishes. Like his toughness on defense. Explosive.

Also plays tight end at times. Athletic. Good hands. Runs well after the catch. Best of all, he blocks well. Stays with his block and can turn defender either way.

Ty is more of a defensive player. Brother DaVon plays defensive line at O-State. Good man to learn the little nuggets of playing on the defensive line.

Really like his attitude. Gets the job done.

Ty will be a top defensive line guy for MSR in the Class of 2020. Really athletic. Plays smart. A quiet toughness.

I wrote about Lorenzo Styles Jr’s dad back in the day. Dad was a big tough linebacker. Played at O-State and spent some time in the NFL. But Loenzo Jr is his own man and seeking his own identity. That should be no problem.

Plays either side of the ball. Excellent wideout. Learning and getting better as a corner. Although he played last year, he is still learning both sides of the ball.

Lorenzo Styles J

As a wide receiver, he catches the ball in traffic. Gets separation after the catch. Deceptive burst, but has 5th gear. Fast. Speed is a strong point.

As a corner, he anticipates well. Can turn and recover. Needs to keep working on his hips, but as he gets bigger/stronger, he should be fine. Strong on run support and will tackle.

His best position right now is kick returner. Excellent vision. Hips to change direction. Good burst to get through traffic. Smooth. Fluid. Fifth gear to finish. Always a threat to make the big play returning a punt or kickoff.

His future is good, with an early offer from Notre Dame. But Lorenzo needs to keep adding weight. Needs to get bigger/faster/stronger. Only a sophomore and should be fine. Height/weight never listed. Natural ability.

One of the top players in MSR Ohio Class of 2021.

Both Ty and Lorenzo are top recruits in the respective classes. Both are only going to get better and better. Both have tremendous work ethics. Both are are good character guys. Both are going to play on the highest level.
