Max Wynn – LB – Centerville HS – Akron

Good to see senior Max Wynn from Centerville High School get in some 7on7 work at the University of Dayton last Friday. He is excited and I am excited that he has committed to play football at Akron.

He had some other MAC schools, along with Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Western Kentucky throwing out “offers,” but chose Akron.

First saw Max playing LB as a 10th grader for Centerville HS. Played like a sophomore, but had some talent. Toughness – no problem. Size was. Guessing 6’1-195. Needed to improve overall speed and change of direction.

Last year, honestly, much of the same. Toughness no problem. Then measured – 6’1-210. Needed to get bigger/stronger/faster. Needed to improve change of direction. Needed a burst.

Talking to him last Friday, he is finally getting bigger/stronger. Now weighs around 223. Measures 6’2-223. Still working on overall speed and quickness, but is continuing to improve.

Last year he was a All-GWOC first team pick.

Max is a throwback type linebacker. Tough, aggressive, and plays well downhill. Finishes tackles. Really like his LB mentality.

Growing and getting bigger/stronger/faster. He realizes that he has to run better and to improve change direction. But he gets it and is working hard. This fall will be a breakout year.

An ideal MAC linebacker. Plays downhill. Tough.
