The very first time I saw Pickerington North’s Chris Scott (2020), he was playing basketball at Wayne High School and playing well, I might add. Last spring, he moved to Pickerington North High School.
During the summer, I watched him in 7on7 competition at Dublin Coffman HS. No pads, but saw his natural talents as a wide receiver. He can run, separate, and make the big time catch.
Last Thursday night, he made one catch where he took the ball away from the defender, catching the ball high in the high air. Tremendous vertical. Strong hands. A lot of self-confidence.
Also like the way he gets separation. Like his concentration. Like his speed and elusiveness after the catch. Guessin 6’3-175.
Also in this picture is Gahanna Lincoln’s CB junior LaCarr Trent who is a state ranked sprinter in Division 1 track in the spring.
Really like his cover corner ability. Wish he were just a little taller and 25 pounds heavier, but he can run and has excellent recovery speed. Needs to improve his hips. Needs to improve his backpedal speed. A little stiff, but that be improved upon.
LaCarr wants to be a football player. Obviously, an outstanding track sprinter, but he wants to play football on the next level. Just a junior, he has time to get bigger and more flexible. Good straight ahead speed, but needs better hips.
Like his toughness and his desire when playing man coverage. Not afraid to play receiver tight and lock on to him.
Both Chris, a sophomore and Lacarr, a junior, are both MSR highly rated at their positions. Both are going to get better and better. Really like the self confidence both seem to have.
Chris Scott is one of the top 10 prospects in the Ohio Class of 2020.
