Enjoyed watching Pickerington Central’s Ty Hamilton work out at the D-1 Sports Training Center last night. Really starting to grow into his 6’3-250 body. Should be fine.
First met Ty when he was in the 8th grade. I was talking with his older brother DaVon and their dad introduced me to Ty. Long and thin, but if he worked hard, I knew that he would be an eventual college prospect. And he is now starting to collect some offers. DaVon, after committing and de-committing twice is playing at Ohio State.
DaVon has eventually developed into a fine defensive lineman for the Buckeyes. If he keeps working and training hard, Ty will be a Power Five recruit. Still needs to grow into his body, but will.
Really like the way he uses his hands to control blockers. Also can get off blocks and make plays to the outside. Physical enough to stop the inside run. Good overall initial quickness. Ability to find the football and get to the quarterback. Actually has the speed and athleticism to play tight end. Plays some TE at Pickerington Central, but a DL guy on the next level.
Ty has the ability to play any position on the defensive line. Athletic. As he continues to grow and bigger/stronger/quicker, he may be a DT in college.
Soft spoken. Carries a 3.3 in the classroom. Learn a lot about the recruiting process watching his brother go though all of the good and bad of the recruiting circus. For me, he was good to talk with and I enjoyed the conversation. Like his quiet confidence.
Since Ty plays in one of the better high school programs in, he will continue to improve his quickness and strength. He will get better with top competition. I have said twice earlier – grow into his body.
Told me last night that he just picked up a Michigan offer. Also holds a Kentucky offer among some others.
Really like his potential. Still growing at 6’3-250. Like his athleticism. Like his hand strength. A top MSR D-Lineman in the Ohio Class of 2020.
